Training Opportunities

TBRI® in Tennessee Virtual Training

Safe & Secure TN invites caregivers and professionals to join our training opportunities designed to educate participants in the principles of TBRI®. This intervention is utilized to foster healthy relationships through the integration of healing-centered practices. Choose an Overview of relational trauma and TBRI®, a comprehensive look at the 3 foundational principles: Empowering, Connecting, and Correcting, or explore how TBRI® has been applied in other organizations and homes. Sessions are available online through Eventbrite.

This introduction explores the impacts of relational trauma and how TBRI® can be utilized to promote healing. TBRI® is a research-based, attachment focused intervention designed to meet the complex needs of children who have experienced adversity, toxic stress, and/or trauma. Participants will learn how trauma impacts the whole child, how behaviors communicate needs, and how the principles of TBRI®  can be used to promote healing.

The Principles of TBRI® Series offers a focus on one principle per month: Connecting, Empowering, and Correcting. This series is designed for participants who seek a deeper understanding of TBRI® to begin implementing the intervention. The Connecting module emphasizes how caregivers attune to children’s social-emotional needs to build trust and create felt safety. The Empowering module explores how to meet the physical needs of the child. Finally, the Correcting module equips caregivers to address challenging behaviors both proactively and responsively, while maintaining connection.

TBRI® is utilized across a variety of settings, including homes, residential treatment centers, schools, churches, and community agencies. These sessions explore strategies for implementing TBRI® in specific settings. Follow us on social media or Eventbrite to see when a training is offered for your setting.
